Back at CVS!

It's funny how in life, sometimes you go out and try something new, but end up going back to the same old familiar place.

Today, I got two calls back from CVS. One of them was from someone in corporate, and the other was from Mark, the manager when I used to work at CVS (and even as far back as when it was Eckerd). He wants me back, and he's able to bypass a lot of the application and interview stuff that I would need to do if I worked at another store. I decided to accept his offer and work at my old store again, especially since he can start me probably next week, a lot sooner than I would have started otherwise.

It's no secret that I had a falling out with CVS and Mark when I left over a year ago. Neither of us holds a grudge against the other, because we both understand that there were certain situations that led to that. Basically, I tried to be the "good employee" and hold a lot of my feelings in rather than expressing them to Mark. So when I became frustrated with a lot of stuff going on, I ended up just letting the pressure build, and I ended up exploding shortly after I returned from my Houston vacation.

But returning to CVS will be a fresh start for me. I'll try to bring some new attitudes to how I handle work. If something's bothering me, I'll talk to Mark about it rather than letting it build too much. I also want to try not to "take work home", meaning to not worry about work stuff at home. That was one thing that stressed me out as well. I became so emotionally invested in my job that I became very frustrated and stressed when things weren't going right, which they often didn't.

Some things have changed about the store and about CVS, but a lot haven't. There is now a good staff of employees, so we shouldn't have the understaffing issues that led to a lot of the problems last time. But besides that, most of the systems and the basic things haven't changed, so I should be able to easily get back into it. And it seems like it's not as stressful of an environment anymore, so I can feel more comfortable while I'm getting back into the routine of the job.

I'm going to go pee in a cup for them tomorrow, then when my background check and drug test results come in next week, I should be able to start working toward the end of next week. Then I can rest easy, having a nice steady income once again. I'm looking forward to my new (but really old) job!
